MBCS is responsible for the collection and recycling of beverage containers from
the South West of Calgary. It operates within policy parameters set out by the minister
of Alberta Environment.
In 1993 the legislation was updated as the "Beverage Container Recycling Regulation"
and brought under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act. With a few exceptions,
the regulation states that any beverage in any type of packaging needs not only
to be recovered but also recycled. The manufacturers of regulated beverages were
also required by regulation to create a common collection system - meaning that
all containers needed to be grouped together by material type and size, not by brand.
Money Back Container Shack operates on the basis of several guiding principles:
1. Strive to provide enhanced Customer experience
2. Provide refunds for all
the registered containers under legislation
3. Strive for continuous improvement
in our operations.
4. Provide a culture of honesty, integrity and accountability
